The Eastern Regional Tourism District (ERTD) today announced the first two funding recipients for the 2020 Regional Marketing Partnership Program. ThinkMystic, a project formed in partnership between Mystic tourism entities and attractions, and Wide Open, a program organized by the Last Green Valley Heritage Corridor, each received funding to promote tourism opportunities for their respective regions. Gallery opening in Harris Building:
Cathy Fosnot, a long-term resident of New London most known for her work in math education, is opening a new gallery in the Harris Building at 165 State St. (Atrium 102) on Friday, September 18 at 6pm. The opening exhibition will be her own works, which she created as the global pandemic forced closures. The exhibition opening will be from 6-8PM and runs through October 10th. The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra Mystic, CT – On this Earth Day 2019, Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport Museum and the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center are proud to announce plans for a multi-day, community-wide Earth Day 2020 event in celebration of the movements 50th anniversary. The events, which will be announced in detail in the coming months, will engage a host of like-minded community partners as well as the general public in support of habitat restoration, conservation and overall collective action.

Eastern CT – The Greater Mystic Tourism Marketing Committee is hosting an industry FAM Tour (familiarization tour) of regional art, culture and tourism attractions on Monday, February 25th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Before the tourism season begins, hotel/hospitality and tourism professionals are invited to join the FAM Tour for a fun-filled day featuring behind-the-scenes tours and updates Mystic, CT – On Friday night, December 7, nearly 5,500 guests visited Mystic Aquarium as part of Olde Mistick Village’s Festival of Lights. Thanks to the generosity of those guests, Mystic Aquarium, with the help of Mystic Transportation, delivered 7,039 pounds of non-perishable food to the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center in New London this morning.
An additional $801 was collected in monetary donations in support of the local food center.
